Thanksgiving

You would think it’s Christmas time out there instead of Thanksgiving.  We’ve gotten at least 8+ inches of snow in the past three days and it’s starting to fall again.  Husband and I are celebrating the winter wonderland by driving over the pass to his family’s house for Thanksgiving.  We also celebrated Monday by driving home from Boise.  In snow the entire way.  For six hours.  I’m not complaining.  I love the snow.

In case you haven’t heard (which means you do not follow either of us on Twitter, nor are you friends with us on Facebook), we found out last Thursday that we are having a baby girl in April.  Which vastly opens up my knitting options for Baby.  There are many more cute dresses and sweaters and such for little girl-lings than for boy-lings.  And we’ve started to get the names question.  We opted to put off name brainstorming until we knew what the gender of our child is – so we wouldn’t get rabidly attached to a single gender name only to find out we’re having a child of the opposite gender.  I like gender-specific names for the most part.  So, we’ve just started our lists.  And we haven’t decided if we’re telling anyone the baby’s name before she comes or not.  It’s always sort of nice to have some part of your big news that you hold back just for yourselves and most of the big news with babies you can’t hold to yourselves for very long.  So brace yourselves.  You may not have anything to call our daughter except Little Pooper until she’s here.

LP’s first cardiologist appointment is going to be next Monday, weather permitting, and we are driving up to Spokane for some tests on her heart to make sure Momma didn’t pass on any of those characteristics.  As far as the doc could tell last Thursday, she has a perfectly normal heart but my cardiologists are going to be looking as well just to be on the safe side.  For now, we’re thankful for a healthy pregnancy so far (which is nearly 1/2 way over!) and a daughter.

And snow.

Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Yay! I just took the plunge and came back to blogging and thought I’d better check in with you – and you’re pregnant! I am so excited for you guys. I hope you’re well and healthy, and I highly recommend having little girls. They’re super fun.

Also, I totally vote for keeping the name quiet. We did that with ours and it was lovely – didn’t have to listen to anyone’s opinions on them, and it allowed us to change our minds at the last minute, which we did.

We went and had another baby, though, and I bet you’ll love her name.

    • Yay! Thea! I’m so glad you’re back in the blogging world! I did know you had another little one and yes, I do have a particular love for her name. 🙂 I’m friends with BJ Ott on Facebook and I kind of lurked on Mitch’s page 🙂 Congratulations!
